It’s important to note about the Headcrumbs mod that it wasn’t always the standalone mod that it is currently. Originally, the features that this mod implements were a part of the Gany’s End mod. If you don’t know what the Gany’s End mod is then it’s basically a very high quality resource pack that adds a lot of functionality and gameplay elements to Minecraft. Anyhow, the reason behind the individual release of the Headcrumbs mod was mainly the fact that there was a pretty big demand for it amongst the players due to how simple and yet useful it was.
What the Headcrumbs mod does is actually rather peculiar. It essentially adds only the heads of various mobs, creatures and other in-game entities. The heads can drop as items normally drop or they can be acquired through other means as well. The highlight of this mod is the absurd variety that it comes with though. There are multitudes of different kinds of heads such as dragon heads, NPC heads, heads of most in-game mobs, heads of animals and a bunch of others as well. So ultimately this mod adds the head of pretty much every single being that you’ve seen while playing Minecraft. The use of most heads is purely decorative but if you feel like it then you can definitely go on a rather creative route to make something unique happen.
The Headcrumbs also comes with a config file that you can make use of to edit and modify the names of the different heads that you’ll encounter in the game. You can even add the heads of people from the outside world into the game through this file such as Youtube celebrities and what not. The config file might be slightly hard to fully figure out at first but once you get the hang of it the mod will become much open to you.
Headcrumbs is without a doubt one of the most popular mods available today seeing as how it is downloaded over 130k times every single month and ever since its release almost two years ago it has already been downloaded more than 1,500,000 times. The creator of Headcrumbs has also given players full permission to use the pack in any mudpack whether it’s public or private and this is definitely something that the players will appreciate very much.
